the stepwell is still in use………… not for its original purpose of drawing water to drink or wash……….. its too filthy. it still provides water for the surrounding fields.

this is a small village that is next to the hanuman temple. to the left of the woman a cricket game is going on with the number 2 priest ( the son of the main priest) fielding at deep mid wicket.

you will often see women making fuel blocks out of it to cook food and keep people warm.
i was told in rural rajasthan on asking why womes teeth were so sparling white that they used the ashes from fires fueled by cow dung to clean them.
